of Nigerians in the UK
(CANUK)

About Us
Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (Canuk) is an umbrella body representing all Nigerians in the United Kingdom. Canuk’s mission is to protect, unify and empower Nigerians in the United Kingdom towards contributing to the growth and development of our host country, (the United Kingdom) and our motherland (Nigeria).

Canuk was formed by the Nigeria High Commission in the United Kingdom in recognition of a clear need to unite the plethora of Nigerian societies, bodies, unions and associations under one umbrella organisation. This ensures that the welfare, views, and community interests of Nigerians in the United Kingdom are represented in a harmonious and organised manner; and creating a common forum through which the united voice of Nigerian community in the United Kingdom could be heard.
His Excellency Dr Christopher Kolade CON, the former Nigerian high commissioner to the UK was the founding patron of Canuk. He was succeeded by Dr Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, OFR who sustained the vision of a united Nigerian community under a strong Canuk. Under his leadership Canuk's's membership grew across the UK regions.
