Dr Boma Douglas MSc PhD CEng MEI - Chairman

Dr Boma Douglas is the immediate past Chair of the Energy Institute, London and Home Counties Branch and is now a member of the Governing Council. He is a Chartered Energy Engineer. He is an Assessor and Interviewer on the Membership Panel of the EI.

He has a PhD and an MSc in Environmental Engineering.  He is also a Civil and Structural Engineer with vast experience as Projects Engineer on multi story structures, rigid and flexible pavement construction. Dr Douglas has worked with governmental organisations and large corporate consultancies in the UK including WS Atkins.  He is an expert in Energy Efficiency and Low carbon Technologies.  He is the MD Operations in Willesden Global Ltd and a former Director of GBJ Engineering Consultants Ltd and Waste Energy Bio-Solutions Ltd advising international governmental agencies on Waste to Energy. 

Dr Douglas had been on the Governing Board of Turney School in Dulwich and Archbishop Sumner School in Kennington. He is also the President of the Engineering Forum of Nigerians in the UK (EFN) and a Patron of Patron of Nollywood Entertainment Ltd UK ZAFFA and the Voice of Hope Foundation.  He is a Trustee of several Charitable Organisations in the UK.  He is a British and Nigerian Citizen with vast experience in Community support work.

Dr Onoagbe Henry Okosun - First Vice Chairman

Dr Henry Okosun is the immediate past Canuk Welfare Secretary is now Canuk First Vice Chairman. He is a consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist within NHS and in the Independent Healthcare Services. He is the Medical Director of Regency International Clinic London. He is the Responsible Officer to Care Quality Commission, Information Commissioner Office for Regency International Clinic Ltd.

He is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, British Medical Association, and Royal Society of Medicine and holds Masters of Medical Science Degree in Assisted Reproduction Technology and Master’s Degree in Leadership from Anglia Ruskin University UK.  He has held various Leadership role within NHS & Independent Healthcare Sector. He has been a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecology in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and currently in UK. Mr Okosun has several publications and original research in the medical specialty of obstetrics & gynaecology and clinical risk management.

Dr Okosun has acquired in-depth knowledge and experience of welfare activities within the Nigerian communities in UK because of his background training as a medical doctor and consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist, ten years at executive level in Club87 (PRO, Vice President and past president). He has organised several welfare activities for Canuk – Grenfell Fire disaster, Bereavement visitations, and conflict resolution for Nigerians who were distressed. He was a member of Canuk Publicity Committee (2015-2017). He has organised several welfare activities for Club87, setting up of Club87 Charity Trust and Club87 Youth Integration, Mentoring and Empowerment Seminars and programmes and current Chairman Organising Committee of Club87 Youth & Women Empowerment Programmes. He is a member of Medical Associations of Nigerians in UK (Mansag).

Chris Agbai - BSc Hons, PGCE (Cambridge) - Second Vice Chairman

Christian is a new and enthusiastic member of the CANUK management and executive  committee. He is a chemistry graduate and has that lectured in IMT Enugu before completing a post graduate studies in computing. He has worked for nearly 20 years in the city of London as a programmer , systems manager , senior database administrator and computer project manager. Christian has  managed huge IT projects in the city of London as well as  small fund raising community support projects for his igbo community. He now brings this practical project management experience to the CANUK executive board. Christian has a passion to make a difference in young  peoples lives.  He is currently working as head of computer science in a  south London school, where he teaches and mentors young people,  he believes that if students are concerned about their grades, there will be no concern for knife crimes.  Christian is also currently working as adviser to a prominent Nigerian state governor regarding a large IT project.  He is excited about working with his new colleagues and he is looking forward to making an impact in the new CANUK projects.

Emeka Henry Okoli BSc, MBA, MSC, CISI, FCA - General Secretary

Emeka Okoli  is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 25 years financial services experience mostly in investment banking and fund management. He has worked on complex business analysis, finance transformation and restructuring projects. Emeka has great enthusiasm for finance automation systems, testing and process enhancements within capital market management reporting environment where he initiated and helped set up finance control functions and MIS reporting systems across international boundaries, with people from different backgrounds.

Popularly called Henry, he has passion for technology, engineering and architectural designs. With keen entrepreneurial drive he runs HetoGrow Capital focused on asset management, solar energy, computing technology and consulting. Henry is well versed in ecommerce design, deployment and digital marketing technologies. He has a first degree in Accounting with double Masters in Business Management and International Banking & Finance.

 

He has served the Nigerian community through other associations in various capacities like chair of electoral committee, fund raising, conference director, finance director, benevolent fund, members’ education & training, seminar coordinator, strategic planning & special projects director, facilities management, etc. A founding General Secretary of Nigeria Students Association, University of Greenwich in 2002, he’s also a pioneer of the #ComJokeWithMe family entertainment show focused on creating new opportunities and transforming UK Nollywood & Nollycomedy genres.

Ayo Oyebade - Financial Secretary

Ayo Oyebade is an award-winning Accountant (Ambassador Award at Best of Nigeria 2011 Awards); Blogger (www.ayooyebade.com); Actor; Producer; Husband of HRH Theodora Ibekwe-Oyebade, Father of Natalie and, Grandfather of Levi and Micah.With over 30 years’ experience in Accountancy & Finance, Ayo’s clients include numerous Show Business Personalities and he has worked on a number films as Production Accountant.

Ayo, in addition to being Associate Producer on quite a few movies including the highly successful Shameful Deceit (produced by his wife, HRH Theodora Ibekwe-Oyebade), has also appeared in several movies - Shameful Deceit; Heartless Carer; Battered; Purity of Heart; 18 Carat Mama; Jacuzzi; Oga Detective; Enchained; Basira in London and Malcolm Benson’s Return of the Don. He also featured in Meet Pursuit Delange directed by Howard Webster.

Ayo has just wrapped filming Maids of Docklands, an exciting Television Serial.

Ayo is a Member and, Past President of Hendon Rotary Club (2011/12 & 2013/14); Past Secretary of UK Nollywood Producers Guild; Finance Secretary of the Actors Guild of UK Nollywood; a Member of the Organising Committee of Nigerian Centenary Awards UK 2014; Finance Secretary of the Uncelebrated Nigerians Awards UK Organising Committee; Treasurer of Face Front Inclusive Theatre Charity; and, Finance Secretary of Ondo Union UK and Finance Secretary of CANUK 2018 to date.

Sheryl Coker - Publicity Secretary

Sheryl Coker is an Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.. Her expertise is in Financial Control and IT. She has worked both in the public and private sector. Sheryl has volunteered with charities involved in youth development. Sheryl served on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), UK District and is currently the Secretary of Professionals in Accounting and Commerce (PAC) an organisation bridging the gap between Accounting Professionals and the World of Business and Commerce. 

Sheryl loves travelling and is a keen formula 1 fan.

Titi Danso ACA MBA - Assistant Publicity Secretary

Titilola Danso is a senior Finance professional and a qualified Accountant with over 10 years’ experience mainly within the property management industry.She has an MBA in Finance from University of Lagos and also an MBA in Construction and Real Estate from the University College of Estate Management in Reading. 

Titi enjoys helping others and volunteers in different charities in different capacities.In addition to this she, also coaches people on Financial Literacy – how to manage their finances better, be debt free, financially independent and build a solid financial future.

Bola Abioye - Ganiyu - Assistant Social Secretary

Bola Ganiyu is a Business Strategist and Project management consultant by profession. She is keen on social and charitable causes and spend a considerable amount of time providing career advisory services to pre /postgraduates and experienced hires who wish to change their career path. She is a budding motivational speaker and is passionate about motivating people to be innovative, entrepreneurial, financially savvy and independent. Bola currently hold BSc in Leadership and Management from Nottingham Trent University and I'm married with two boys.

 

Among other things, she has a small-scale boutique event management company called Prospect76Events and has been the chair of the events management sub-committee of Uncelebrated Nigerians Awards UNA UK and a member of the project management committee of the Nigerian Direct Diaspora Investment Summit (NDDIS). She has chaired and coordinated the Yaba College of Technology Traditional Ball to celebrate 70years of its existence.  This year, she helped organise various events within the community. She is currently working towards her certification with the John Maxwell team as this will give her the ability to facilitate, speak, train and coach individuals and groups in the areas of leadership development, professional skills and personal growth.
